Standing the Test of Time: History of the Bates College Mouthpiece
Introduction
The white trimmed, rectangular, double sided bulletin board located outside of Hathorn Hall was a once vital aspect of campus. The class of 1927 gave back to Bates by providing a new electronic bulletin board, which would become known as the Mouthpiece. This board contained necessary information, which students relied on for the location of classes, lectures, and student announcements. Despite a fresh layer of paint and the newness of its appearance, its significance to Bates has deteriorated.
